Episode 1: My Background and Purpose for this Podcast

Welcome to the Achieve Results Nutrition and Wellness podcast! It is so great to have you here with me in episode #1 of what is going to be a real passion project for me, as well as a great way to bring you high quality nutrition and wellness information!! This episode is a review of the following topics: Why I am starting this podcast? - I want to make nutrition and overall wellness easier for people to understand. - I want to provide sound and accurate advice that people can use for improved habits and skills for creating a more well rounded, and wellness focussed life, and all the awesomeness that comes with this! What is this podcast and who is it for? - This is a nutrition, and total wellness podcast. I will be discussing nutrition, training, sleep, recovery, mental performance, and all other branches of the total wellness tree! I love nutrition and feel that it is a massive part of a wellness focussed life, but if you don’t put all the pieces of the puzzle together you can’t complete it and live a total wellness focussed life! You can’t just master one subject! - This podcast will focus on nutrition, exercise, sleep, recovery modalities, mindset and self improvement, and all other aspects of an elevated high performance life! Who I am, my past, and how I made my way into the nutrition space - The GF that initially sparked my thinking about nutrition - Too many Tim’s hot chocolate and donuts - Freshman year of D1 hockey and the Nathan Gerbe straw that broke the camel's back - Small, uneducated choices that skyrocketed my results and progressed my interest in the power of nutrition - The competitive edge in athletics My eventual downfall due to poor diet and the kickback from that - Paleo diet and under fuelling - Burnout and retirement from pro hockey - Spending 2 years “finding my way” - The decision to re-enroll in college as a dietetics major - Meeting Don and the grind of supporting myself through full time school The influence that Don Saladino has had on my life Passing the RD exam and starting my career Building my own business and how that took shape Where I am at currently A look into the future of A.R.
